Love is in the air as Bulldogs start preparing for Valentine’s Day, and, as the school year typically shows, there is no better way to spread the fun than with a plethora of fundraisers, socials, and campaigns from all sorts of clubs within the school.
The Purple Ambassadors club was the first of many who will start the Valentine’s season off strong. This club, which focuses on providing support for military-connected students within the school, hosted a Valentine’s-themed bake sale over the past week, Feb. 3 – Feb. 7. Students were able to stop by the front of the auditorium in the mornings to grab from an assortment of sweet treats for themselves or their valentines.
Another club that started early was Health4Her with their Valentine’s social after school on Feb. 7. Many friends arrived, cards were made, and lots of desserts eaten, for a night of fun. Though it was not a fundraiser, students can still do their part to help the club’s cause of supporting the Loudoun Abused Women Shelter (LAWS) by bringing in some lightly used clothes to donate to those in need. Volunteer hours are offered for the amount of cards made and also clothes donated.
Coming up, and continuing the baked goods fundraiser theme, Global Ambassadors will be hosting a similar sale on Feb. 13 and 14. This sale is directed towards sending funds to UNICEF, whose primary goal is to protect children around the world. Global Ambassadors will also have many baked goods in the morning for sale on Valentine’s Day itself, guaranteeing a sweet start to everyone’s day.
Also hosting their fundraiser on Feb. 13 is SCA with SR Coffee. Stop by from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and mention Stone Bridge when ordering in order for funds to go back to supporting different activities across the school.
Lastly, Sources of Strength will be hosting a school wide “Self Love” campaign from Feb. 10 – Feb. 13. Throughout the week, members of Sources of Strength will have students write something they love about themselves on a paper heart, which will then be hung up later on the tree outside their classroom. This initiative focuses on promoting self-love for all during this season.
There are many ways to support fellow bulldogs and their clubs over the next week so make sure to stop by any one of these amazing fundraisers to join in the Valentine’s celebration!
