Catty Corner Café On E Market Street

On Apr. 1, downtown Leesburg welcomed a new establishment into its long line of bustling restaurants and shops: Catty Corner Café. Created by Heather Donahue, cat owner and cat enthusiast, this location mixes the café experience with a comfy cat lounge.

Donahue grew up around cats and continued to foster and adopt cats into her adult life. After visiting Meows Corner, a cat lounge in Sterling, she was struck with the inspiration to start her own business.

Catty Corner Café works with the Loudoun Humane Society to create a safe environment where rescued cats can be fostered until they find their forever home. The café allows customers to spend time with each and every cat before finding their perfect feline friend to adopt.

The interior of the establishment consists of two levels. On the lower level customers will find the café–its production currently limited to a complementary cookie and coffee, though Donahue hopes to expand the menu in the near future. On the top level, walls are lined with hidey holes and ledges while cat towers and upcycled furniture occupy the floors.

Whether you’re looking to relieve stress or just need a feline fix, Catty Corner Café is the spot to seek out. On all days except Wednesday, the café welcomes guests from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. (and soon to be 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends). Don’t miss your chance for some cat company with a sweet treat; make sure to head to 116 E Market Street, Leesburg.
