Lady Gaga is returning to the music industry with her upcoming album, “Mayhem”, set to release this Friday, Mar. 7. “Mayhem” will be Gaga’s seventh studio album that brings her back to her electro dance-pop roots, similar to her sixth album in 2020, “Chromatica.”
In anticipation for the album, Gaga has already released two singles: “Disease” on Oct. 25, 2024, and “Abracadabra” on Feb. 3. Both tracks have gained attention, with “Abracadabra” recently becoming the top five tracks in Germany and the UK.
As the release date of “Mayhem” quickly approaches, the music industry and fans are eagerly awaiting to see what the pop sensation has in store. Gaga’s chart-topping hits of the early 2000’s, an innovative approach to pop music, have pushed the contemporary boundaries of the industry.
Gaga’s artistic choices are what make her performances so distinctive. One of her more notable productions was her debut at the VMAS in 2009 with her song “Paparazzi,” a performance that solidified Gaga’s bold artistic expression for most of the 2010’s.
Although, at the beginning of the decade, many were not a fan of her unique expression. The show business that profited off of Gaga’s hard-work, did everything in its power to rip her apart. However, Gaga used her music to push back against the gender bias in Hollywood, along with advocating for LGBTQ+ rights through her song, “Born This Way.”
The newest addition to her musical portfolio serves as a reminder for everything she has done for the industry. Gaga taking an unapologetic stance of continuing to perform during a time where she was so heavily criticized by the public is what makes her so influential to women and a strong symbol of the queer community.
“Mayhem,” with its announced 53 minute run time, releases this Friday Mar. 7 and is sure to electrify fans’ playlists with yet another dazzling hit to add on to her legacy.
